MBBS Introduction to the program
The MBBS at Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is a six-year undergraduate program for international students taught in English.
About Zhengzhou University (ZZU)
Zhengzhou University is a national key university funded by the Henan Provincial Government and the Ministry of Education and was established on July 10, 2000, by merging three universities: the former Zhengzhou University, Study MBBS in Zhengzhou University, and Henan Medical University.
About the program
In 2000, Zhengzhou University was approved to offer the EMI MBBS program to international students with an annual quota of 200 students. The goal of the program is to educate physicians who are competent to understand and provide effective, humane, and ethical medical care, who are committed to lifelong learning, and who are prepared to advance to postgraduate education.
Students are encouraged to take an active role in directing their own learning and to ask questions about what and how they are learning through problem-based learning in small groups. These courses promote the development of interpersonal communication and group work skills and help students become lifelong learners.
They emphasize the links between different areas of knowledge. The basic elements of basic science and clinical practice are taught in an integrated approach. Students have the opportunity to select and explore specific interests or experiences in medical or non-medical fields through electives in the second half of the third year and at the end of the final year after graduation.
They will design and develop protocols for a health-related research project. They also learn about different clinical settings through clinical visits and clinical placements and are required to participate in volunteer and community service, foreign exchange and/or other educational activities.
