A duck is a bird called a waterfowl since they live near ponds, lakes and rivers. This species lives on every continent except Antarctica. A few of them reside in freshwater, while others are in saltwater. They can live for up to 10 years.

Female Cayuga is also spotted with iridescent feathers, but they’re not as visible. Both have black bills. The name of this duck comes from the spot where it first came from, Lake Cayuga, New York.

A bird weighing 3 pounds is just as heavy as a brick. A Muscovy duck is the largest species living across North America. It grows to about 30 inches long and weighs about 15 pounds.

Goose is a different kind of waterfowl however it is bigger than the duck. A Canadian goose is between 2.5 and 3.6 feet in length and weighs 7.1 up to 14.

They have a variety of ways to shield themselves from predators. Wild ducks with the ability to fly could be able to escape a predator by taking off into the sky. A female bird with its dull-colored feathers may be able to hide in the tall weeds and other vegetation close to a body water. They are swift swimmers that can help them escape any danger.

These birds are social creatures and feel safer in groups. Ducks in a group may be described as the raft or team. Naturally, they could be referred to as a flock. A flock could comprise a few birds or even a lot depending on the amount of birds that live within the area.
